  • Guest：Mercure Resort Kooddoo was fantastic. We had completed a full on 12 day tour of SriLanka and this was exactly what we needed to relax before we headed home. We chose a beach villa which was bigger and better than the impression we had from the photos. All villas are stand alone so no adjoining walls and very quiet. We were very content to snorkel and swim out from our little beach and enjoy the afternoons on the deck of our villa. We chose the all inclusive package which was great. The food at the buffet restaurant was very good and the Italian restaurant Vista, over the water was wonderful. There was a great selection of food and drink to choose from. The staff were delightful and went to great lengths to make us feel welcome going above and beyond for my husbands birthday. Our flight to Kooddoo was a late one so we missed an afternoon and sunset, but made it in time for the dinner service. My advice would be to make sure you’re in Male’ for the earlier flight if possible to maximise your time on the island paradise. Similarly we were told we needed to be on the 5.00am flight out which we declined and chose to take the 9.00am to get our connecting flight. I don’t believe you can book specific flights to and from the island, but if you are in Male’ earlier in the day for the inbound flight you have a better chance of arriving earlier. Having said that the complimentary lounge facility at Male airport was pretty good. Overall a nice vibe and very relaxing. Yes we’d go back again!!
